Named after their leader, Red, they were the first bats to escape from a military research base which turned animals into weapons, and these had become Vampires!

Red was responsible for Gore Paw becoming a Vampire. He and his gang were thought to have been eradicated in the great battle of 21 Merlot Street.

Later, other Bats and Giant Rats escaped from the research facility and started the Skinny Pig Wars with the Were Mice.
