Originally raised in a zoo in Norway, at the age of two he escaped and found himself in the Forest of Doom, offering his services to the King.

He was employed as the Forest warden, ensuring that no one enters without authorization into the Kingdom of Trolls.

He knows Stuart from a long time ago when he tricked the King of the Trolls into a bad investment. When they meet again, he takes him to face the King, giving him the opportunity to settle their differences. Nigel later becomes an ally to Gore Paw.
