Rexy and Sonny were lost in time and stuck on The Mysterious Island. It was there that the rock’s radioactivity gave them powers.

The Time Tunnel later split them up, with Rexy losing his memory and Sonny chasing him through time to get him back on track. They arrived in the dinosaur period, where they met up with Gore Paw and his friends.
